Natural aluminium flat bar, also sold as aluminium strip or flat aluminium plate, is a plain, practical metal strip for fabrication, repairs and DIY builds. These aluminium strips are supplied in raw mill finish and 1m lengths, ready to cut, drill and shape with standard tools for brackets, supports, fixings and custom parts.
Choose from five sizes. The 15, 20 and 25mm strips are 2mm thick and suit lighter jobs, edging and flat trim, and the 25mm width is a handy option if you are looking for a 1 inch wide aluminium strip. The 30 and 40mm bars are 3mm thick for a stiffer flat plate where you need a bit more strength. Sizes are given as width x thickness, the same way they appear in the size options.
Mill finish is untreated aluminium straight from production, so it is the right choice when you plan to cut, drill, paint or finish the metal yourself. Easy Installation:
- Measure and mark the required length on the strip.
- Cut to size with a fine-tooth hacksaw and file the cut end smooth.
- Drill holes where needed using a standard metal drill bit.
- Fix in place with screws, rivets or a suitable adhesive.
Good to Know:
- Sizes are given as width x thickness.
- Mill finish is untreated aluminium, so light marks from manufacturing and handling are normal.
- Each variant is one 1m length.
