📐 Aluminium U Channel Sizes:

Base is the outside width of the channel, legs are the outside height of each side. The inside gap is the base minus both walls, so it tells you roughly how thick a board or panel will slide in.

Aluminium U channel is a simple, strong way to finish and protect the edge of a board, panel or sheet. This U profile edge trim slides over the edge to cover it, giving a clean metal line and protecting it from knocks. Every size comes in a 1m length and is easy to cut to size.

Choose from eight sizes, from a slim 6 x 6 mm U trim for thin sheets and acrylic, up to 25 x 15 mm for thicker panels. The 20 x 10 x 1 mm size has an inside gap of about 18mm, which suits standard 18mm boards, and the heavy 20 x 10 x 1.5 mm version gives a stiffer channel with a thicker wall.

Easy Installation:

• Check the thickness of your board or panel and pick a size with a matching inside gap.
• Measure the edge and mark the required length on the channel.
• Cut to size with a fine-tooth hacksaw and lightly file the cut end. Mitre at 45° for neat corners.
• Slide the channel over the edge. For a firm hold, add a suitable adhesive inside the channel.
• Where needed, drill and secure with small screws or rivets.

Good to Know:

• All sizes are outside dimensions, given as base x legs x wall thickness.
• Inside gaps are approximate. If your board is a tight fit, choose the next size up.
• Mill finish is untreated aluminium, so light handling marks are normal.
• Each variant is one 1m length.
